Mauro Palmas

Multi-instrumentalist and composer, protagonist at a very young age of a pioneering project of research and historical-critical recovery of popular music, lover of fascinating plectrum instruments such as the cantabile lute and the mandoloncello.

For over forty years, Mauro has shared his intense artistic journey, dotted with prestigious collaborations and concerts all over the world, with the singer Elena Ledda.

Mauro is the founder of various bands and musical projects, collaborating over the years as an instrumentalist and composer of soundtracks and original productions, with numerous musicians, choreographers, writers, actors and directors. Among these: Maria Carta, Andrea Parodi, Luigi Lai, Paolo Fresu, Gavino Murgia, Mauro Pagani, Maurizio Camardi, Enrico Rava, Riccardo Tesi, Pietro Cernuto, Marco Argiolas, Alessandro Foresti, Patrizia Laquidara, Noa, Don Cherry, Lester Bowie, Don Moye, Rita Marcotulli, Antonio Placer, Steve Swallow, Antonello Salis, Gabriella Aiello, Nando Citarella, Gabriele Mirabassi, Gianfranco Cabiddu, Roberto Olla, Mvula Sungani, Maurizio Mezzorani, Massimo Carlotto, Michela Murgia, Maria Gabriela Ledda, Mariangela Sedda, and many others.

Mauro is the creator of the workshops and teacher of Lute Cantabile and Mandola.
