Diatonic Accordion

Diatonic Accordion

Riccardo Tesi

Composer, instrumentalist, researcher, teacher, starting from his Tuscan tradition, he opens up to comparison with European traditions, and with jazz and songwriting.

Riccardo is an authentic poet of popular memory linked to the sound of the accordion, developing a very personal style and expanding the technical and expressive opportunities of an instrument that has long remained the exclusive heritage of tradition.

His collaborations are numerous and without geographical borders and musical frontiers, from the most representative exponents of ethnic music to those of ethno-jazz, rock, songwriting, and classical.

Riccardo composes for theater and cinema, collaborates with prestigious actors and directors, winning numerous awards for the dissemination and promotion of the accordion in the world, for his excellence as an accordion player, for the best recording proposals of the year.

He is the author, with Roberto Tombesi, of the first Italian accordion method entitled “L’Organetto Diatonico“.

He taught at the Traditional Music Department of the P. I. Tchaikovski Conservatory in Catanzaro. He regularly holds workshops and master classes in Italy and abroad.
